What is a flat fee MLS? A typical real estate listing fee is split between the selling agent and the buying agent and their respective companies. The commission fees are negotiated based on the sales price of the home prior to listing your property.
DMV Homes works with local real estate agents to list your property for a flat fee (based upon the package you chose). Our agent will contact you (within 72 hours) to fill out the necessary paperwork to have your home listed in the MLS giving you much greater exposure to the market. You have the option of a heavy duty DMV sign in your yard with a rider showing that your home is MLS LISTED (you will not have a real estate agency sign in your yard). Your home will then be listed in the local MLS, on Realtor.com® as well as on our website. There is a brochure box on the sign post where you can print brochures about your home directly from your listing on DMV Homes so interested parties can contact from the information provided on the brochure, or by logging onto our website to view your home.
What happens next? You show your own home to potential buyers. If a real estate buyer’s agent contacts you to show your home—you may negotiate their potential commission in advance (the buyer side only). You must make the arrangements for the real estate agent to show your home and handle all contract negotiations with that agent.
The Flat Fee MLS option offers you much greater exposure to the market, and if resulting in a sale can save you significant money in commission fees. In essence you save money by using the flat fee MLS if sold through an agent and much more if you sell your home yourself.
